10 Amazing Facts about the Human Body

Did you know that the human body has about 60,000 miles worth of blood vessels? If you could actually remove all of the blood vessels in your body, and stitch them together, you could wrap it around the earth 2 times! Yup, the human body is amazing, and there’s a lot we know, but there’s also a lot we don’t know. The amazing features built into our bodies are overlooked, or just taken for granted. Did you know that your nose can remember 50,000 different scents? Obviously your brain is doing all the remembering, but it is detected by the nose, and processed by the brain. Speaking of processing and storage; your brain has the capacity to store anywhere from 1 Terabyte (12 zeroes), to 2.5 Petabytes  (15 zeroes). Let me repeat that, up to 2.5 PB!! Can you imagine, in 1980 a 1GB hard drive was the size of a refrigerator, it weighed 550 pounds, and it cost about $40,000 (about $111,000 present day). Today, with technological advancements, as proved by Moore’s Law, a 1GB hard drive is literally the size of an ice cube or smaller that fits in a fridge. The brain is similar, the more you feed it, the more it’ll store. Free hard drive upgrades! The only problem people have is actually accessing all of the information in our brains. I’m not a scientist, so I’ll just stop there.
